Put an animated Memoji on your Mac, so you can set it as an animated user profile image.
The new update to macOS Monterey includes many interesting news, and among them we have the possibility of use an animated Memoji as a user profile photo instead of a standard static image. We can also choose an animated Memoji for each Mac user, and they will interact with each other and with the things we do before logging in.
MacOS Hack: Use an Animated Profile Picture Memoji
For a long time we can change the image of our macOS profile, the one that appears when you restart the computer or it returns from sleep just above your username before entering the password. But with macOS Monterey comes a pretty cool new form of customization.
Instead of a still image or photo, we can have an animated Memoji as a profile photo. These are the steps you must follow if you want to have it on your Mac:
- Go into System preferences from the Dock or from > System Preferences.
- Now you must enter the section Groups and Users.
- put the mouse over profile picture that you have configured and click on Edit. You can do it with all Mac users.
- Select Memoji in the sidebar and select the Memoji you want to use by pressing in the “+” you can create your Memoji on macOS.
- Once chosen click on Pose to choose an expression and in Style to choose the background color.
- When you’re done, click below on Keep
The next time you log into your Mac, you will see your animated Memoji there to welcome you. This Memoji looks alive and will be moving by following your movements. Yes it takes too long to enter the password, it will fall asleep. If you enter the password wrong, it will put different faces and when you put it correctly it will be happy. It is quite curious and striking and you can put both an Apple Memoji and a personalized one with your face.
