Conditions to receive money for Tweets
To be eligible to participate in this program, creators must meet certain requirements.
For one, they need to be a Twitter Blue subscriber or a verified organization. Besides, They must have reached at least 5 million impressions on their posts in the last 3 months.
They must also pass a verification related to the monetization standards for creators and have a Stripe account to receive payment.
Twitter, creativity and advertising
Some content creators already claim to have received payments from Twitter with this program.
For example, the journalist and technology expert brian krassensteinwith nearly 750,000 followers, said Twitter paid him $24,300.
American political commentator, Benny Johnsonwith 1.7 million followers, also said she received $9,546.
On his own platform, Musk also spoke about the issue, indicating that payments they are cumulative since this measure was announced last February.
The program relies on ads served in replies to tweets, as it would be more difficult to attribute revenue to creators based on ads served in the main feed.
The idea of the company is that creators create compelling content that generates comments and interactions, so they can earn profit through advertising displayed on their posts.
This new initiative means that more creators will look to subscribe to Twitter Blue and encourage users to respond to their tweets, which should theoretically generate more conversation and engagement on the platform.
However, this could also raise moderation issues, as some creators might seek to stir up controversy or tackle contentious topics in order to increase the number of comments.
