How to give shapes a glow effect in Corel PhotoPaint
A good way to make buttons for web pages or simply to give a glow effect to almost any shape that we make in Corel PhotoPaint is to add a glow effect to it. This, if done correctly, adds great depth to a particular shape, as well as making it not look like a two-dimensional object.
In order to make a shape have the correct glow effect, see the following step by step:
- Once you have Corel PhotoPaint open, you should go to the toolbar on the left. Here you should go to the shapes tool. This gives several options such as being able to create rectangles, ellipses and others. You will choose one of these forms or simply create your own.
- Once you have your shape made, remember that with the options at the top you can customize its color, its corners, its outline and others. That said, you will need to duplicate the shape in terms of layers. For this, you can press Ctrl + D.
- Now in the new layer that you have created, you must use the eyedropper to take a sample of the color that it is made of, then take the color replacement tool and take the white color and pass it through the shape you have made.
- Next, choose the Rectangle Selection Tool or however you see fit for your shape and select the half or part that you don’t want to have shine on the shape. Once done, press delete to be able to remove the white color from that area.
- Finally, you must select the transparency tool to edit the white color until it can be set as indicated and can be seen as a glow.
