Less than a month to go until the launch of Splatoon 3 on Nintendo Switch but even less is missing for the arrival of the first splatfest, as it will arrive before its launch so that all players can try this new game. However, this time the Splatfest is going to be a little different and here we explain why.
In past Splatfests, players had to choose one of two teams, after which they had to compete in Turf War mode to generate points for their team. However, in Splatoon 3 things change, because this time we can choose between three teams and not just the mode turf-war generates points for the event.

Nintendo has already confirmed that in Splatoon 3 the Splatfest will consist of two parts, the yobi-festival and the Main Festival, and the winner will be chosen based on the number of votes, who wins the Yobi Festival and who wins the Main Festival.
The Turf War mode will continue to be the main one, but during the Yobi Festival we will be able to play Territorial Battle and Salmon Run to accumulate points for our faction and thus contribute to victory. However, you need to vote for your team before you start playing or neither faction will receive points.
The Turf War battles are also going to be a bit different this time around as they have been adapted for three-team competition. At first the battles will be traditional, but when one team takes the lead we will see battles of three, with two teams at each end of the map and the winner in the middle.
The first Splatoon 3 Splatfest will take place on August 27 and all Nintendo Switch players will be able to participate, as the demo download is accompanied by a code to get 7 days of Nintendo Switch Online for free. This code will be valid even if you have already redeemed a similar code before.
