With a few simple steps, you can change the font size in iOS 15.
One of the most differential essences of Apple is the development they make of their operating system for all their devices. The goal is for it to be fully accessible to all types of users, regardless of age or knowledge. With the passing of updates, you can change font size in any app.
You have to pay attention to this, because it is not about changing the size of the system, which has been done for many years. We are talking about doing it individually in each application, to avoid precisely changing it throughout the operating system. It is a novelty of iOS 15, so perhaps it has gone unnoticed.
Change the font size in each app from the settings
These improvements in the accessibility of Apple devices are not reserved only for the iPhone version. It can also be seen on iPad from iPadOS 15, since most of the features are common with iOS 15. The fact is that people with optical difficulties find it easier to handle mobile devices.
What this function does is change the font size in a specific app, without affecting the rest of the system. Obviously this you can choose to your liking, since a large font size can affect navigation in a specific app, and vice versa. To change the dimension, you have to do the following:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Go into “Accessibility“.
- Click on “Settings per app“.
- Select the button “Add app“.
- Choose and select the app that you want to modify.
- Place this app in the customization list. On this screen you can make some more adjustments, such as setting transparency and contrast, inverting colors, or setting text to bold.
- Click on the one you are interested in for this case, which is “Larger text“.
- In the horizontal bar that appears on the screen, adjust font size that suits you best. When you have everything set up, go back and exit Settings. The size will be changed automatically, although if you have the app in question open, you must close it for the changes to take effect.
This set of steps makes it easy for you to navigate through the applications in a comfortable and personalized way. Although Apple distributes its interface design to developers, in some apps you can see larger or smaller letters, which differ from the rest of the system. Thus, you avoid resizing on all iOS or iPadOS.
How to modify the font size from the Control Center of iOS 15
Although the previous process is extremely simple, you have to perform several steps and go through some menus to get to the option that interests you. Luckily, Apple devices have a Control Center that is already known to the world. It is the menu that is displayed when you slide down from the top of the screen.
Preserves quick actions such as activating different connectivity, multimedia playback and other settings. But besides that, it allows you to customize it adding more shortcuts and quick actions, thus avoiding entering the menus and applications. As expected, you can change the font size from that Control Center and without having to go to the Settings app every time you want to change it. You have to do the following:
- Head over and open the Settings app.
- Click on the section “Control center“.
- Once here, you will have to add the functionality “Text size“to those that you have already activated. It will only be necessary to press the green “+” button located to the left of the functionality to quickly include and change it from the Control Center.
From here, you just have to enter the app you want and download the Control Center so that it appears on the screen. At that moment the magic arrives, because just by pressing the icon that you have added, the font size will be changed immediately in the entire application interface, although from that button you can choose to apply it throughout the system. A bar will even appear to adjust the size in situ, something that is fantastic for the user.
