Microsoft Office has multiple tools to work from the PC. PowerPoint is an old tool and every day it is renewed with better options with each update. But one of the features that most attracts users is the ability to change the language of the spell checker to do flawless and error-free jobs.
We usually do all the slides in our native language. However, there is the possibility that you want to change the language to make a document for another region or translate work in another language.
How to change the language of the spell checker?
As the phrase “all roads lead to Rome” says, there is more than one way to change the language of the spell checker in PowerPoint. You can change the language for a document or directly in the application for all the documents you edit from now on.
Change the language from the toolbar
In newer versions of PowerPoint to change the language of the spell checker is simple.
- Click on the Review tab of the application
- Select the Languages option and then the Set correction language option.
- A new window opens with the available languages and the one you use by default is selected.
- Find and select the language you want from the displayed list.
Within the same languages tab, you can set whether you want the document to be spelled check. Likewise, you can set the language you select as the default for that document and for all those you edit in the future.
Change the language from the status bar
Depending on the configuration you have in the application, in the status bar you will find quick access to the language of the spell checker.
- Simply click on the language set in the status bar at the bottom left of the application.
- The Language window opens, with the language set by default and a list of all the others available.
- After making your selection press the accept button and the changes will be saved automatically.
Change the language from the File Menu
- Click on the File menu or access it using the shortcut command Alt + A.
- Choose the last available option that will direct you to a new PowerPoint Options window.
- In the left pane select the Language option.
- From here you can modify the editing language options.
From PowerPoint Options, you can remove or disable a language from the list that it defaults to. Like you can choose the language of the user interface. That is, it would change the language of the application.
Translation tool
Newer versions of PowerPoint have an additional text translation feature. The office has built-in smart services that are used for document translations powered by Microsoft Translator.
It not only works in PowerPoint but in all Microsoft Office tools. Helps improve writing, make dynamic presentations in PowerPoint, and prioritize emails in Microsoft Outlook.
To access this tool from PowerPoint, click on Review and then on the Translate option.
Customize the toolbar and options
If you want to go a little further and have your own version of PowerPoint that suits your needs, you can configure the quick access toolbar and the ribbon.
- Access the File menu with the shortcut command Alt + A and click on the options option.
- To customize the toolbar, click on the Quick Access Toolbar option.
- Two lists appear a list of available commands and another to the right of commands that you can add to Quick Access. You can choose from the ones you use the most or search the list for one that you require in particular.
- To customize the ribbon is very similar. Select the Customize Ribbon option and choose from the list of available commands the ones you want to add to the main tabs.
