Having enough groups on WhatsApp or Telegram can become major tedium if one wants to be aware of everything that happens. You know, someone sends an interesting or curious photo, and in 30 seconds we will find that a large part of the participants will begin to express their opinion or surprise for the shared file. Socially speaking this is normal, but if you don’t want to be dealing with these kinds of dozens of responses in a few seconds, there are ways around it.
Some apps like Facebook Messenger and Hangouts offer various methods to temporarily silence those group conversations, but it has to be done manually. We have the option of Tasker, the app for automated tasks, but if one does not want to go through its configuration, the developer uniro has created an app that will automatically silence notifications when several messages are received at the same time.
How to auto-mute message groups arriving at the same time
What this app does is automatically silence the messages that arrive at the same time. The first notification will sound, but the rest will be silenced, although you will receive them visibly from the status bar. It is a good solution for a problem that we have to constantly deal with almost every day. All you need is to have Android 5.0 or higher installed.
The first thing is to install the app called Mutifier that you can find in the same Google Play Store:
- Now we are going to launch the recently installed app
- It will ask us for some additional permissions that we accept
- We press «Ok» in the pop-up window, then we do the same on the next screen, we activate the entry next to «Mutifier» in the notification access and we click on «Accept» in the new pop-up window that will appear
The next thing is to modify the interval of received messages to silence them. Let’s say that after you receive a notification, Mutifier will automatically mute the volume of notifications for a period of time. What it means is that the first message of a group chat will ring, but not the messages that arrive later in a specified period of time.
We will have at the top of the main screen of the app the ability to adjust the time interval. The default value is 10 seconds , but it is recommended that it be set to 30 seconds or more.
You will have everything ready to support all those group messages that will continue to arrive, but that this app will try not to pull our hair.
