Until Google took pity on the office workers! If you are one of those who use many tabs in the browser Google Chrome, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a new feature that allows you to group them in an orderly fashion. Forget about clicking on another tab by mistake, because now you will have everything within reach and well organized to make your day.
The tool is called “Permanent Tab Groups” and it allows you to group and keep your open tabs organized in Chrome so close or restart the browser. It is not necessary to install anything in the system, because the steps are extremely simple and everything is done from the same browser.
The first thing you should do is update Google Chrome. Make sure you have the latest version to get the new feature.
Done the above, open all the tabs you want to group. You can organize them in different windows or simply leave them open in a single window. Now right click on one of the tabs to be grouped and select “Add tabs to a new group”.
You can customize the groups to your liking. You can index a name, add a color to them, and add more tabs to the group by right-clicking on a tab and selecting “Add to existing group.” You’ll even save time by closing all the tabs in a group with a single click.
Tips to group your tabs in Chrome
- Group tabs by topics or tasks. You can have a group for email, another group for social networks, one for work projects, etc.
- If you have tabs that you need to keep open to quickly access important websites, consider using bookmarks instead of keeping tabs open all the time.
- If there are tabs that you need to always have open, you can pin them in Chrome. Right-click on a tab and select the “Pin Tab” option. Pinned tabs will shrink to a smaller size and remain on the left side of the tab bar.
- There are several extensions available for Chrome to organize and manage your tabs. “OneTab”, “Tab Wrangler” and “The Great Suspender” allow you to group tabs, save tab sessions for later, suspend inactive tabs and more.
