In the different States of the European Union, the duration of the working life of the population ranges between 31.3 years in Romania and 42.5 years in the Netherlands. While the Spanish would be dedicating an average of 35.6 years to work.
The data also includes certain countries outside the European Union that have shown that their numbers are diverse. For example, according to 2020 data, the working life expectancy in Turkey is 27.3 years.
However, in Iceland, a 15-year-old would work much longer, on average 44.6 years in total. In 2021, the average duration of the working life of the 15-year-old population resident in the European Union was 36 years, which was 1.5 years longer than in 2012 according to Eurostat.
