Important studies reveal the eating habits of children in our country.
The University of North Carolina, in conjunction with the Nestlé Fund for Nutrition, carried out numerous studies to understand the eating patterns and eating habits of the Mexican population. These studies are the FITS (Feeding Infant and Toddlers Study) KNHS (Kids Nutrition and Health Study) and the book? What and how do we Mexicans eat ?; studies based on information from the National Survey of Health and Nutrition carried out by the National Institute of Public Health in Mexico. And in them they discovered interesting data regarding the consumption of vegetables and fruits:
–70% of children between 9-13 years do not consume fruits every day
– 2 out of 10 children between the ages of 1 and 19 do not consume vegetables in their diet.
– In adults, it is seen that only 30% includes vegetables
– Only 5% of children between 4 and 13 years old consume fruits for breakfast.
