How do we sleep? While you are off to the world, there are many things that are happening. Know the stages of sleep.
In order to feel rested the next day, you have to experience the stages of sleep, which are divided into two phases: the No REM (they are the abbreviations in English of rapid eye movement); and the other is REM.
Phase 1: No REM
STAGES 1 AND 2 | 50-60% OF THE TOTAL OF YOUR DREAM
For every 70 to 90 minutes throughout the night, there is a two-phase cycle of overall sleep. The initial (non-REM) has three different stages. The first two are relatively light.
STAGE 3 | 10-15% OF THE TOTAL OF YOUR DREAM
The third and deepest stage is N3. It is when magic happens. Your body releases growth hormones to regenerate muscles and tissues, repair cell damage, renew energy, and strengthen immunity.
Phase 2: REM
STAGE 4 | 25% OF THE TOTAL OF YOUR DREAM
The restorative phase of the brain. Dreams occur, in addition to memory consolidation, information processing and learning. As the night progresses, REM sleep takes up a larger portion of each cycle.
