Bill Gates is retired. Everything he does now is for his own enjoyment and rest, in what seem to be the last years of his life. In 2008 he ceased to be the senior leader of Microsoft, the company of which he is the founder, and in 2020 he left his position as an executive advisor at the company.
Despite this, he continues to have shares in the company, but he lives off the royalties that this and other investments that he made and continue to make with ventures that generate interest leave him.
Figures reviewed Xataka indicate that Bill Gates was the richest man in the world for 19 years. And now, he retired from office, he remains in sixth place on this exclusive list. His fortune, impressively, continues to increase over the years. That, specifically, is what we come to explain in this note.
Bill Gates’ investments
The secret is in Bill Gates’ investments. The North American tycoon puts money into small or emerging companies in which he sees growth. When they take a massive leap he reaps the dividends from it.
Another of the investments that Bill usually makes are those that are related to the environment, Xataka reports. Everything related to renewable energies or developments that are friendly to our planet, have the approval (and probably money) of Gates.
Likewise, Bill Gates registers a huge amount of fertile land for planting rice, corn or soybeans, from which he obtains multiple profits.
Microsoft, for its part, continues to leave him around $30 million annually, since it owns 1.3% of the company’s shares.
