To achieve the electrification goals set months ago, Honda will not introduce any new gasoline models in China from 2030. All the new models introduced by the Japanese manufacturer in the Asian Giant will be hybrid and / or 100% electric cars.
Honda presents e: N Series, its new Chinese brand of electric cars
In this important event it has been announced e: N Series, the new Chinese brand of electric cars that Honda has created to accelerate its electrification process in the aforementioned market. Honda emphasizes that the e: N name represents its desire to energize people who are trying to do things based on their own initiative in this age of electrification. The letter e stands for “e: Technology” while the letter N stands for “Next / New”.
All the new models of the eN Series brand will be developed under the concepts of Dynamics, Intelligence and Beauty. The company assures that they will offer a sporty and exhilarating driving experience. They will also feature an integrated system called e: N OS that will consist of Honda Sensing and Honda Connect technologies to offer a digital and connected cabin. And to all this must be added a distinctive design language.
Honda plans to introduce ten models under the e: N Series brand over the next five years. The first two have already been presented and will begin their commercial journey in the spring of 2022.
Honda introduces e: NS1 and e: NP1 electric SUVs
What will be the first models of this new brand? Well, it is, how could it be otherwise seeing the times, two SUVs. Have been unveiled the new e: NS1 and e: NP1. Although not many details have been given about these two models, Honda has emphasized that they offer a sporty driving together with a comfortable and safe interior.
These two new electric vehicles will go on sale in spring 2022 through Honda’s joint ventures with Dongfeng and GAC, its two local partners in China. In the approximately 1,200 dealerships that Honda has in China, a specific space will be created for this new brand. In addition, later on, and if everything goes according to plan, the goal is to open dealerships dedicated to e: N Series in the main cities of the country.
The next electric brand e: N Series
The eN Series range will be expanded in the short term. Honda gives a glimpse of what the three future production models will look like through concept models. The concept cars e: N Coupe, e: N SUV and e: N GT, lay the foundations for these new models that will see the light of day over the next half decade.
Honda has announced a major electric offensive for the Chinese market
