The growing war between Russia and Ukraine has highlighted the difficult situation in which the world currently finds itself, not only due to the constant tension due to the outbreak of a global war that could put an end to the way of life that currently has developed, but also to the way in which this has been carried out, being that today the “war” is transmitted through social networks, and NFTs and Cryptocurrencies have become a means of resistance of the Ukrainian people.
This armed conflict differs from previous wars in a particular way, since it is now that non-tangible money, digital currencies, cryptocurrencies have become the means with which financing has begun, thanks to the State, companies private or interested civil nature.
The use of Cryptocurrencies
One of the advantages of the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of financing the war is due to the fact that the money that is donated reaches those who need it directly, without the need for intermediaries, such as a bank, for For this, various private sectors seek to finance the Ukrainian resistance through the use of digital currencies or cryptocurrencies.
Likewise, one of the advantages offered by immersion within digital communities is the solidarity that can be generated, this is the case of the active community in the use of cryptocurrencies, such is the case of Come Back Alive, an NGO of Ukraine, who has started accepting donations in cryptocurrencies, which registered a collection of up to 3 million dollars in Bitcoins, destined for use in the Ukrainian resistance to the advance of Russian troops.
The use of NFTs
As with cryptocurrencies, the use of Non-Fungible Tokens, as a means of raising funds for the resistance of the Ukrainian forces, has become a reality of the new normal, various artists, collectors, private or public, have started to bid, auction and collect NFT’s with the intention of helping the Ukrainian forces.
One of the best-known cases is that of the artist Allen, who has declared herself openly involved in the use of cryptocurrencies since 2018, who in an act that has been questioned on networks, burned her passport, arguing that she could not return. to his native country (Russia) under the regime in which he currently lives.
It is worth mentioning that the auction of the NFT, in which it is observed how the passport is burned, began in the past days, within the market platform, SuperRare, likewise the artist points out that the funds collected from the sale of her NFT will be sent directly to the Save the Children organization.
