Though Hideo Kojima is already working on his new project, this has not yet been officially announced to the public, but a leak would reveal that it is a third-person horror game that would be called OVERDOSEwhich could be shown during this ad season for the video game industry.
According to insider Tom Henderson in his report for Tryhardguides, someone anonymously sent him a gameplay video showing Margaret Qualley in a blue dress, the actress who played Mama in Death Stranding. However, Henderson says that it is not Death Stranding 2 but a new game called OVERDOSE.

According to Henderson’s description, the video in question shows a character walking down a dark corridor with a flashlight in third person, but suggests that it will also be playable in first person view. Henderson says that at the end of the video there is a scare that says GAMEOVER, followed by the caption “A Hideo Kojima game… OVERDOSE.”
A couple of weeks ago, actor Norman Reedus said he was working on Death Stranding 2, so he would have confirmed the development of his sequel ahead of time, but apparently it would not be the only project Hideo Kojima is working on. A long time ago there was a rumor that Kojima was in negotiations with Xbox to publish his next game, so it is believed that it could be this one.
Hideo Kojima fans are still lamenting that Silent Hills has been cancelled, but it’s possible that the director’s ideas could be applied in another horror game, like OVERDOSE. Either way, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement from Kojima, which could happen during this Sunday’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, according to Henderson.
