The trailer for Assassin’s Creed Codename: Hexe shows only a dark forest, with a twisted, handmade, wooden version of the AC logo hanging from a rope. On the other hand, it was confirmed that Assassin’s Creed is coming to Japan.

While the official information for Assassin’s Creed Codename: Hexe is quite brief, there is already some speculation that could shed light on the future of the game. It is speculated that Hexe could be set in 16th or 17th century Europe., with a focus on witch hunts and witch trials, something that makes sense given the kind of vibe of Robert Eggers and The Crucible in the trailer. Cotê also hints that the trailer might contain some sort of code, inviting players to “crack it apart…and find out all the secrets.”
