Firefox 85 will improve user security
January will be the month in which Firefox 85 is launched, a version that is loaded with news in terms of security. And it is that the developers of the browser want to launch a new function that will allow to partition the use of the network, thereby making information tracking more complicated, and improving general privacy.
Keep in mind that network partitioning is not a new feature. There are other browsers that already use it. Although it always works for the same thing: prevent users from being tracked using the cookies that are available on websites. Do not forget that browsers store data of all kinds of data that are often stored in the cache, improving performance when serving this information. But it is also true that this could lead to security holes.
Separating information to make it secure
The partitioning of the network that will be launched in Firefox 85 has a lot to do with the use made of the data stored in the browsers.
Generally, this data, which includes the famous cookies, is shared between different websites. However, thanks to the partitioning of the network what you want to do is separate this information stored in the cache from other data that could be used to track us. A very interesting feature that will allow you to avoid the use of cookies in order to know which websites we have been to.
We have to see the partitioning of the network as a security wall to prevent the data in its entirety from being read. And, by not being able to consult, security is increased. Therefore, other pages will not be able to see personal information or data that could endanger our privacy.
We do not have to lose our eye to a possible loss of performance, having to download several types of data separately, processing these in order to display the correct information on each site. In any case, it is something that should be improved.
Firefox still thinks about user privacy
The feature that Firefox will launch is clearly aimed at increasing both security and user privacy. On the one hand, not all sites will be able to access the information stored from other previously visited websites. At the same time, personal data can not be stolen or security holes exploited since the information will be separate and completely independent. Good news for the users themselves.
The truth is that any advancement in security matters made by users is excellent news. Today we browse a multitude of Internet sites, which means that we are also exposed to a large number of dangers that could be especially serious. With features like those of Firefox 85, the quality of our Internet browsing is improved.
