A new product from Escobar Inc., the company of Roberto Escobar, brother of the late Colombian drug trafficker Pablo Escobar, hit the market: a reconditioned iPhone 11 Pro called Escobar Gold 11 Pro.
This device would be the third smartphone model that Escobar Inc. launches after the launch of the Escobar Fold 1 and Escobar Fold 2, a folding phone that turned out to be a copy of the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
At the time, Pablo Escobar’s brother announced his Escobar Fold 1 by threatening Samsung and prompting users to join the “boss of killers” to shake the tech company.
Now, the “entrepreneur” wants to apply the same strategy, using Apple phones as a base. The difference is that, from the beginning, Escobar Inc. does not hide that it is a modified Apple equipment.
With Escobar Fold in January, the company which made literally was put a sticker on the Galaxy Fold of Samsung.
On the website of the drug trafficker’s brother, the Escobar Gold is claimed to be an iPhone 11 Pro with 256GB memory but is plated in 24-karat gold and personalized with Pablo Escobar’s aesthetic.
But do not be fooled: the iPhone is not covered in gold, but the golden effect was achieved with a new case attached to the back. It is not a sticker, but the company has had to do that to engrave the Escobar Inc logo.
However, the announcement of this smartphone is somewhat suspicious, since, for some strange reason, its price is well below the original cost of Apple phones. The Escobar Gold is available at $ 499 and the company promises to ship anywhere in the world totally free.
That makes us question the following: How could you make money reselling cell phones at lower prices? Everything seems to indicate that Pablo Escobar’s brother’s units have been returned by other users.
According to their website, this is a limited edition and there are only 2,000 phones available for sale, so they urge potential buyers to take advantage of the promotion quickly.
Getting an iPhone 11 Pro for $ 499 sounds very tempting and surely there will be many people willing to pay for it, but they would have to do it at their own risk since this product is obviously not endorsed by Apple nor has any warranty.
Even the website does not have secure payment methods. In fact, users filed complaints when the Escobar Fold was launched, as they never received the device in their hands.
Would you dare to buy the new ‘golden’ iPhone from Escobar Inc.? We suggest that you do not.
