On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of HBO and the celebration of The Last of Us Day, the television network has published the First trailer for The Last of Us seriesthe dramatic adaptation that will be based on the successful exclusive PlayStation game developed by Naughty Dog that will be released in 2023 on HBO Max.
Thanks to this first trailer we can see in depth the level of respect the TV series will bring to the original video game that this same month was re-released on PS5. The cast includes Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, who will even wear the same clothes as the characters in the game. Likewise, we can also see (and hear) the first and fearsome Clicker.
The story of The Last of Us takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a tough-minded survivor, is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts out as a small job soon turns into a brutal and harrowing journey as the two must traverse the US and depend on each other for survival.

The Last of Us cast will also include Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Anna Torv as Tess, Nico Parker as Sarah, Murray Bartlett as Frank, Nick Offerman as Bill, Storm Reid as Riley, Merle Dandridge as Marlene, Jeffrey Pierce as Perry, Lamar Johnson as Henry, Keivonn Woodard as Sam, Graham Greene as Marlon, and Elaine Miles as Florence. Likewise, we can also see Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker in roles different from those of the video gamesince they were in charge of giving life to Ellie and Joel.
The Last of Us series comes from the hands of Craig Mazin, known for the successful Chernoby, after collaborating with Neil Druckmann, creator of the video game. After the promising progress, it remains to be known exactly when the series that will change the chronology with respect to the game will be released.
