HBO has finally released the trailer from ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’, a new adaptation of the homonymous novel by Audrey Niffenegger that was already brought to the big screen in 2009 under the title ‘Beyond time’ and with Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams in the leading roles.
This time they are Theo James and Rose Leslie (‘Game of Thrones’) who lead a series that has the added interest of assuming the return of Steven Moffat to science fiction. The famous screenwriter concluded his time on ‘Doctor Who’ five years ago and here he promises to give us a series that combines time travel and romance.
More details about the series
‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ tells the story of Henry DeTamble (James), a man who possesses the ability to travel through time. Quite a scientific achievement, it’s also a problem for his marriage to Claire Abshire (Leslie), who is often left basically abandoned when he has to use that incredible power.
The HBO series promises an approach much more faithful to the original materialas Moffat believes the Robert Schwentke-directed film cleverly abbreviated the novel, but instead focused too much on time travel and not enough on the love story.
Desmin Borges, Natasha Lopez, Jason David, kate siegelrecently seen in the excellent ‘Midnight Mass’, Jaime Ray Newman, Taylor Richardson, Josh Stamberg and Spencer House complete the main cast of ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’.
The premiere of ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ on HBO is scheduled for next month maybut the exact day is still unknown.
