In just a few weeks, HBO Max will already be available in Spain with a renewed app and even more content.
The war of streaming platforms continues, and this time with the evolution of one of its great contenders. A few weeks ago, the media giant WarnerMedia, owner of brands such as Warner Bros., HBO or Cartoon Network, announced the arrival of HBO Max in Europe. And recently have detailed the landing plans for this “new” platform, which also arrived in Latin America in the summer.
HBO Max is the new streaming platform under which the contents of the WarnerMedia brands are grouped, as well as new original content. Without a doubt, it is one of the great competitors of Netflix and Disney +, and now it is about to arrive in Spain. On October 26, HBO Spain will give way to HBO Max, with a completely new application, something that many have been requesting for a long time.
With HBO Max, current HBO Spain users will receive news such as user profiles, 4K quality in some content, and a new interface with personalized and curated recommendations both automatically and by your editorial team. In addition, content such as the reboot of Gossip Girl, or new original series of Spanish production such as Todo Lo Otro, will also be expected. Even starting in 2022, it will be possible to see Warner Bros. movies just 45 days after their theatrical release.
Regarding prices, the platform also applies some changes. Fortunately, none of them imply a price increase, which will remain 8.99 euros per month. Along with the monthly payment, an annual payment option for 69.99 euros per year will be introduced, which would save the fee for about four months. Also, it seems that new users will be able to enjoy an offer that will be detailed at launch.
However, HBO Max launches with renewed forces to compete for the throne of the king of streaming. And counting on series like Succession, or The House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones spinoff, or the Warner Bros. catalog, the truth is that they are going really strong.
