Hayao Miyazaki Today he is known for his work as a director, but even anime fans consider him a living legend. At the moment, Miyazaki is very busy working on his next movie, but while we wait for its eventual premiere, the filmmaker’s fans will be happy to know that his first manga will finally arrive in our territory with everything and an English dubbing.
Thanks to First Second, Shuna’s Journey will finally come to West for the first time after 40 years of being originally published in Japan. Alex Dudok deWit, author and journalist, will be responsible for translating it. In accordance with Dudok de Wit, Shuna’s Journey is “an homage to the emonogatari comics that became popular in Japan decades ago.”
Mark Sigel, editorial director for First Secondstates that this manga will help fans learn more about the personal growth of Miyazaki when telling a story
“Fans of Princess Mononoke and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind will be happy to find little hints to these masterpieces in these incredible pages painted in watercolor by Miyazaki himself.”
Shuna’s Journey was originally published on Japan in 1983and although its arrival in WestWe don’t have an exact date yet.
