The wave of games as a service is coming.
These past few weeks have been very convulsive in the world of video games. We have witnessed some titanic purchases, such as Activision by Microsoft or Zynga by Take Two. That generated a lot of speculation in the market about the possible moves of Sony, which was not long in moving. After the high-profile purchase of Bungie by Sony, in fact, we could see the company’s interest in improving its catalog of games as a service, a subject in which PlayStation did not have so much potential. Now, however, there are also alliances like the one formed with the Haven studio, which has given details of the game that they prepare for PS5 and PC.
There are probably few people left in the gaming world who don’t know who Jade Raymond is, since As a producer, she has always had great weight and prominence in each of their jobs. Now, working at ease through Haven, a studio created by herself, we have learned that the IP they are preparing has a clear focus on gaming as a service, the great goal that Sony has set for the future.
Among other details, we can find that this title will have important “social platform” elementsbeing created with the idea in mind that fans have a strong sense of belonging. In fact, from Haven they highlight the weight that online video games have as social glue in recent years, especially after the explosion of the pandemic in which we are plunged. Furthermore, knowing that Mark Cerny is part of the development teamwe know that Haven aims to bring out the full potential of the PS5 in terms of gameplay.
We already knew since the summer that the main factor of the Haven game for PS5 and PC would be mainly focused on online play, but these details make us predict that this title has very big plans for the future. If, finally, everything they want to do has the expected result, there is no doubt that we would be facing a most striking game. For now, yes, it only remains to wait for more news.
