A little over a month ago we told you in 3D PC Games that Eric Barone (known as ConcernedApe), creator of the great Stardew Valley, said he could announce his new game soon, and he has. Haunted Chocolatier is his new video game, in which we will have to run a store in which we will sell products related to the magic ghost chocolate.
If you have played Stardew Valley you probably already know that the main premise of taking care of the farm is just the tip of the iceberg and it seems that in Haunted Chocolatier the same will happen. We already see that we will have to get ingredients by defeating monsters, so it seems that they will have even more importance here, beyond those we found in the mine in Stardew Valley.
The similarities with the farm game to graphic and artistic level are more than obvious. It has a completely continuous style, although it feels more advanced and worked, with new graphics, although some come directly from Stardew Valley. The game looks very nice and it only takes a second to relate it to ConcernedApe, which is interesting.
ConcernedApe is not clear what the game will be like
The mechanics of the store, which are quite reminiscent of Moonlighter, is clear. We’ve also seen combat and resource gathering, villager relationships, and other features that give us a good idea of the game, but the reality is that ConcernedApe it is not entirely clear What can we expect from him, even if the statement sounds half a joke.
“With my new game, I wanted to explore more fantastic possibilities [que en Stardew Valley]… experiences that take you beyond the ordinary. That’s where the magic ghost chocolate comes in, “Eric Barone commented in a post. The video game will have an aura of mystery and there will be ghosts, but don’t worry, will not be “a game evil or negative“.
“I’m not sure what is the best way to describe [el juego]. It is organically evolving as I develop it, so not sure where it will go. But in essence, the game cycle involves collecting ingredients, making chocolate, and running a chocolate shop. […] There is much more, but I don’t want to delve too deeply into this early stage, partly because I don’t want to be tied to any particular concept, “explained Barone.
The creative has commented that with Stardew Valley felt more limited because he was in a “tradition” (we imagine that he refers to that of farm games) and he said that he is having fun making Haunted Chocolatier. Yes, the developing still goes for long and there’s no approximate launch window or anything like that. It will be time to control the hype.
