Bitcoiner Dan Held gave journalist Nicole Behnam a true Texan welcome to Austin as the two discussed their individual paths in the world of cryptocurrencies.
Dan Held is a household name in the Bitcoin world, while Nicole Behnam is a journalist turned crypto and NFT enthusiast. Together they explored Held’s hometown; Austin, Texas to learn about local life and delve into his travels in the crypto space.
Held took Behnam to a local shooting range to get started, and the pair had the opportunity to shoot a rare WWII German MP40. Next, Behnam bought his first cowboy hat from a local store and paired it with a pair of boots before the duo completed their thoughts on the cryptocurrency space.
The pair ended the day by breaking down the prevailing perception towards Bitcoin as NFTs and Web 3.0 move into the spotlight. Held closed the interview by giving a broad look at why other blockchain platforms trade off some semblance of decentralization to enable other functionality.
“This is where many Bitcoiners don’t question the nature of Bitcoin. What if Bitcoin has over-optimized security or decentralization? I admit that that might be a flaw in our thinking.”
However, Held also highlighted that this is one of the main reasons why Bitcoin remains strong against any nation-states that might attack the network.
