Today, on July 19, it goes on sale, having garnered a gigantic success among the specialized press (at SomosXbox we have loved it, as you can read in our analysis of the game). But this day not only this magnificent game is released, as it is joined by two other highly anticipated releases: Stray, a title published by Annapurna Interactive and possibly coming to Xbox in the future, and Endling, a game from Barcelona in which we will bring a beautiful fox on a trip to the beautiful sea. And there is a specific aspect that unites these 3 releases, and that makes us wonder: Has July become the month of precious indie games?
Without a doubt, these 3 works, which are already available to buy, they will rob many of us of hours and hours of entertainment, either enjoying its history, its gameplay, or simply admiring the incredible and careful artistic section, which is completely different in the 3 titles. In a month where few (or none) AAA go on sale, we can say that this month of July we will be very well served with these indies.
Has July become the month of precious indie games?
Will Stray come to Xbox?
Undoubtedly, for years, the indies have been the “saviors” of this industry in many ways, and it is that in the infinite repetition that we find in many of the blockbusters on the market, more humble games like these 3 demonstrate that hyper-realistic graphics, 250 hours of extra content or an overwhelming multiplayer mode are not necessary. Many times, a story that makes us connect, accompanied by a different artistic section and an entertaining gameplay, will make us forget about everything else… And that is the greatest asset of video games.
