Microsoft may not have a Virtual Reality headset like Sony and its PS VR 2, but 343 Industries still experimented with a VR mode in Halo: Infinite. Although this mode was eventually canceled, today we can get an idea of how it would have worked thanks to a video that shows the final mission of Halo 3 in Virtual Reality.
This week we reported that 343 Industries canceled a VR mode for Halo: Infinite, as well as showing off a Halo 3 VR demo by a talented modder, who was hired by 343 Industries after he showed them his work. Now thanks to youtuber Dyortos we can get a better idea of what a Halo VR mode would have been like.

We’ve previously featured a clip showing Halo 3 running in a VR mod, but this time we’re featuring the final Halo 3 mission in VR. This was done by Dyortos using an app called Assembly to load the map, but he switched the vehicle’s camera to first person for a more immersive experience.
The result is incredible and allows us to imagine what that escape would be like if you could look sideways to see the destruction around you, all while driving at top speed with a Warthog.
While 343 Industries doesn’t appear to be working on a VR experience for Halo, the videos released this week give us a glimpse of what the studio could achieve if they set out to create a VR mode for Halo: Infinite or beyond.
