If they are users of a smartphone and they are reading us from a Latin American country, there is a very high degree of probability that someone they know directly owns a telephone Samsung.
Even, in theory, they could be reading this note from a smart device of this brand. Since, basically, half of the smartphones that circulate in the region belong to this South Korean manufacturer.
Little by little we have seen how this field has changed the balance of its fame and popularity with market shares, where perhaps brands like Apple will never be as preponderant as they usually are in other countries.
The rules of the game are constantly changing and the stage does not seem to stand still. There we have the clear background of what was experienced a few years ago, when Huawei was the absolute master of Asia and little by little of much of the West.
In one of the most recent turns of events for example Motorola have become a leading manufacturer for the US market. But it seems that in Latin America there is only one king.
Samsung rules in Latin America
The company CounterpointResearchhas just published the results of its most recent market study for the mobile sector in Latin America.
There, to the surprise of some and not so many others, it turned out that Samsung has already established itself as the most preponderant brand with its market share in the specific segment of smartphones or smartphones.
Since, by the end of the second quarter of 2022, the South Korean manufacturer reached a new historical maximum, consolidating with the 43.6% of market share in Latin America.
In other words, almost half of the smartphones circulating in the area actually belong to Samsung. Far, far away in second place we have its closest competitor: Motorola with just 19.6% market share.
The Chinese from Xiaomi are positioned on the third place in the ranking with 14%, so the competition is more closed on those steps.
With regard to the other positions on the list, Apple is in fourth place with a remote 4.9%, and OPPO is integrated into the fifth place with 2.2%.
The curious thing here is that Samsung, Xiaomi and Apple were the only brands that improved their numbers. While Motorola and OPPO lost ground.
