Privacy is a fundamental element when it comes to smart devices: all records audio and video smart speaker and smart display must somehow be protected from prying eyes and ears.
For this reason, Google, on its devices, continues to add security features that can secure user data: Google Assistant is designed not to share what it records and you can choose an “activation threshold” to prevent the voice assistant is activated accidentally. Also, you can always delete all the data held by Google by logging into your profile or asking the assistant to do it for us.
Today, BigG announced an interesting new feature related to privacy: it is Guest Mode, literally guest mode. This once activated on smart devices via voice command, will avoid collecting data on what is said and above all, it will avoid showing personal information. As already mentioned, it will be possible to manage the Guest Mode through the voice assistant, thus asking to activate or deactivate it, and there will always be an icon in the top-right if it is on.
Guest Mode is available starting today for English-language Google Nest devices, and compatibility with other languages will be added in the near future.
