Enough information has already been shared about WB Games Montreal’s Gotham Knights to establish the plot. Batman’s death, which is still shrouded in mystery, is the catalyst for Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin and Red Hood to team up and defend Gotham City against iconic supervillains and the enigmatic Court of Owls.
The gameplay has also been shared in two different presentations. The first focused on batgirl Y Robin while facing the boss Mr. Freeze. The second focused on Nightwing Y Red Hood and offered an in-depth look at moment-by-moment gameplay in the open world and RPG elements such as costume creation.
Now that at least a bit of the basic gameplay for each character has been shown, there’s still a lot left to show for Gotham Knights. And today it has been announced that even more things about Gotham Knights.
On Thursday, June 9, the start of the Summer Game Fest by Geoff Keighley, showing “a new look and world reveal” of Gotham Knights. Keighley’s latest promotional video for the event was released yesterday, and it features brief footage from Gotham Knights, as well as Marvel’s Midnight Suns and other games that have been announced to appear.
What Gotham Knights appeared in this promotion, fans were already expecting the cooperative action game to be in the Summer Game Festbut now it’s official and fans have an idea of what to expect.
If the new world premiere and the reveal of Gotham Knights look somewhat similar to their last two introductions, fans may get another early look at a sequence in the game that potentially leads to a boss fight.
Until Thursday, though, fans should temper expectations of any new gameplay airing, especially after the reception of the recent Gotham Knights gameplay demo. The word “world premiere” implies that it is a new game, but it could also refer to a simple introduction scene without any gameplay.
