- A Mexican company obtained financing from Google for 100 thousand dollars to use the technology for the medical industry.
- With this support, tools such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Language Models (LMM), Predictive and Generative AI can be applied.
- In a second stage, the program contemplates covering 50% of the costs of Google cloud tools and up to an additional $100,000 in credits.
During the last years Google has established itself as one of the most important companies in the world and now its new objective is to promote the medical industry. Through its technology and with financial support, it seeks to help emerging companies focused on the health field get off the ground.
In that sense, Latin American startups in the initial stage are companies where creativity is linked to the search for solutions to big problems. Precisely this has led them to be very relevant companies with an important social impact; However, to continue growing they face a crucial challenge: obtaining financing.
3 challenges that the healthtech industry has overcome in Mexico
Google understood this need and through the program Google for Startups Cloud Program, seeks to help LATAM startups to boost their technological development. In fact, the Mexican Prosit was one of those selected and obtained financing for 100 thousand dollars, which is additional to the 300 thousand dollars it received from its angel investor.
“We are one of the first companies in Latin America to access this type of support, which allows us to become a HealthTech startup with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Language Models (LMM), Predictive and Generative AI. There are already multiple titans of the Tech industry working with Google, such as Spotify, eBay and Docusign,” explains Mauricio Croda, CEO and founder of Prosit.
From the above, Prosit seeks to leverage these new tools to lead the Healthtech industry. The objective is to improve medical care and health services to simplify the exchange of clinical data between doctors, patients, health institutions, government entities, insurers, pharmacies and laboratories.
Google promotes a smarter medical industry
The CEO of Prosit explains that the incorporation of these tools will have direct benefits for its users. An example is what LLM (Large Language Model) can do. It is a technology powered by generative AI (similar to Chat GPT) specialized in providing medical recommendations. As well as a deep learning product that can make projections about pathologies based on a patient’s medical record and with this can make the medical care they receive more efficient and improve medication recommendations.
“One of the main advantages that the use of Google technologies gives us as HealthTech is to classify data and records so that health services can identify people who require more urgent treatments and thereby prioritize care, product “Google’s deep learning allows us to provide predictions in our medical record, supporting doctors and health personnel to generate pathological projections, improve medication recommendations and even detect future diseases.”
With this financing, startups will be able to access the capabilities of Google Cloud in terms of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning and analytics, as well as quickly building and scaling with services such as Firebase and Google Kubernetes Engine.
The entrepreneurs with the greatest fortunes in the health industry
Prosit seeks to connect more than 25 thousand doctors, unifying the care process by simplifying data exchange with the creation of integrated digital clinical records, that is, being a communication bridge between doctors and patients.
