The legendary has passed away at 79 Juan Diegoone of the leading actors in Spanish cinema and who had a very long career in theater, television and cinema.
A career spanning more than 60 years

Partner, teacher, comrade, friend. An example of humble nobility, a cultured man who knew how to do himself when the circumstances were less favorable. Fly high, fly free. All our love.”
Juan Diego He was born in Bormujos (Seville) on December 14, 1942, and just a few weeks ago he had been named Favorite Son of the town. The actor went on stage for the first time in 1961 to later move to Madrid and continue his career. He soon started working on Study 1 and to participate in numerous films and series of all kinds, without fearing drama or comedy.
In theater he managed to raise controversy with his performance in ‘Waiting for Godot’ in 1966 and was present on stage until 2017 with ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ in 2017. He was also a well-known and recurring face on our televisions and we were able to see him in ‘The twelve faces of Eva’, ‘The thieves go to the office’ and more recently in ‘Paco’s men’.
Diego got the recognition of a good number of prizes and awards for his career, including the Goya for Best Supporting Male Performance for ‘the stunned king‘ Y ‘Paris-Tumbuktu‘ and finally the award for leading role for ‘Vete de mí’, which also earned him the Silver Shell at the San Sebastián Film Festival.
He worked alongside great directors of our cinema such as Luis Garcia Berlanga in ‘Paris-Timbuktu’, Jose Luis Garcia in ‘Your the one’, mario camus in ‘The Holy Innocents’ or Imanol Uribe in ‘El rey pasmado’, leaving a mark that is very present in the history of cinema in our country.
