For 54 years, The Metro Collective Transportation System (STC) has been in charge of transporting millions of residents of the capital through its 12 operating lines.. Although access has risen in price over time, the ticket that guaranteed entry was the same… Until now.
Several years ago and with the arrival of the Metrobús, the Integrated Mobility (IM) card was created, which little by little was modified to such a degree that it now works for traveling by Cablebús, Ecobici, RTP, Trolleybús and Metro.
Nowadays it is possible to pay for these trips not only with this card, but also with a debit card or even with smart watch. For this reason, Claudia Sheinbaum, former head of government of CDMX, recently announced that Metro tickets would gradually disappear.

So far, there are already four lines that have stopped accepting tickets to enter this transportation system. And there is a fourth that will stop receiving them this month. Take your precautions and carry your MI card.
List of stations that no longer receive metro tickets:
- Line 7 (Barranca del Muerto — El Rosario)
- Line 12 (Mixcoac — Tláhuac)
- Line 4 (Martín Carrera — Santa Anita
- Line 6 (El Rosario — Martín Carrera)
- Line 5 (Pantitlán — Politécnico) Will stop accepting tickets starting Saturday, October 21
Will the box office disappear then? No, instead of offering tickets, they will offer their services to recharge the plastics, in addition to the sales and recharging machines that already operate in several of the stations.
The Integrated Mobility card costs 16 pesos and can be purchased at different Metrobús, Cablebús and Metro stations. To add balance, you can use the stations of these transportation systems.
