When you go to a medical consultation, have you ever been mistreated by IMSS or ISSSTE personnel? If so, and in the face of the complaint of thousands of users, from now on that ended because the deputies approved changes to the law so that the personnel of said institutions treat the beneficiaries kindly.
This change is motivated by the situation of the IMSS as the institution with the most complaints from January to September 2021 (1,950), which is followed by the ISSSTE with 712 complaints in the same period, according to data from the National Rights Commission. Humans, CNDH.
The reforms to article 303 of the Social Security Law and article 29 of the Law of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers, had 475 votes in favor in the plenary session of legislators.
The objective of these reforms is for the institutions to “implement, on a regular and scheduled basis, training and updating strategies in ethics and protocols that ensure dignified and efficient care for the beneficiaries.”
The public servants of the IMSS have the obligation to supervise that good treatment is provided in the provision of services and attention to the beneficiaries, as established by the changes to the corresponding laws.
In the Chamber of Deputies it was mentioned that although there are already rules that oblige public servants to provide quality care, based on ethics, dignified treatment, warmth and without discrimination, complaints about medical and administrative personnel of the IMSS and ISSSTE that mistreat the beneficiaries.
