The official synopsis of the novel based on the movie Godzilla vs Kong shows an all-out war between the two famous movie monsters. This will be the fourth film in the cinematic universe “Monstruoverso” of Legendary Pictures, and a direct sequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Kong: Skull Island (2017). Therefore, all the pieces are already in place and it only remains to know how the hostilities will start.
Directed by Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest), Godzilla vs Kong will feature the two main monsters facing each other. But for now, few concrete details about the plot are known. Although the post-credits scene of Godzilla: King of the Monsters did show Alan Jonah (Charles Dance) acquiring the severed head of King Ghidorah. This may hint that we will see Mechagodzilla or Mecha-King Ghidorah in the next movie. So even if the two great monsters fight each other, there may be a third threat that makes them collaborate.
Synopsis of the novel:
The Godzilla vs Kong novelization has been revealed and suggests an all-out war while humans must survive to avoid being wiped off the map.
“Humanity fights for its future as Godzilla and Kong embark on a path of destruction that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in all-out war!”
Recently, Warner Bros. revealed the first footage of Godzilla vs Kong at this year’s CCXP. The footage showed Kong has been captured and is currently incarcerated with some kind of necklace around his neck. This could lead to a conflict between Kong and the Monarch, although it is not entirely clear who has captured the great ape.
Also for now we do not know if Godzilla vs Kong will hit theaters or will be seen directly on the streaming platform HBO Max.
