Little by little, more God of War Ragnarök gameplay is being shown. The return of Kratos and Atreus is close with the launch scheduled for November 9 on PS5 and PS4. Now, we have a new starting ration to enjoy.
This time we can take a look at the kingdom of Svartalfheim, one of the nine Nordic kingdoms that Santa Monica Studio will offer us to explore. In the sequel to the 2018 title we will be able to explore them all and as director Eric Williams reveals, those already visited “will feel new.
We well know that the Fimbulwinter is beginning to ravage everything with its freezing cold and the Lake of Nine will be frozen for it. Speki and Svanna will be the wolves that will pull the sled in which father, son and the head of Mimir travel.
Of course, we do not forget the classic canoe with which to row until we reach our destination. In Svartalfheim, Kratos and Atreus will meet the dwarf Durlin, although his role in the plot is still unknown.
Speaking to Game Informer, level designers James Riding and John Hickenbottom noted that “we wanted to evolve the gameplay in the level spaces: more variety and verticality. In Svartalfheim, you have many places to go, all within one kingdom. It’s a lot of content.”
A new method to advance will be to freeze geysers, which will be part of the ecosystem in which the dwarves of the kingdom live. However, the peace of this place will be disturbed by dark creatures, for which we already know how the dynamic duo will spend it.
