A recent investigation reveals how much optimism has fallen for the arrival of the New Year, a year in which there seems to be a great level of hope.
In short, one of the main emotions of December is nostalgia; the end of the year comes with reflections and, above all, with the desire to change and, to a certain extent, to be better in the near future.
It should be noted that, in this sense, 2022 was presented as the year in which we began to say “goodbye” to the lethality of Covid-19 and, in some way, to the pandemic. It is not that the virus disappears, but that it is about saying goodbye to one of the most complex periods in history.
On the other hand, 2022 was dismissed in the midst of an environment of inflation and rising prices that, in many ways, has consumers worried, added to the war context that is still in force in the so-called old continent.
Taking the latter into account, ipsosthrough a survey, has revealed that it reveals that nine out of ten respondents say they feel stressed by the impact of rising prices and 55 percent are more so than last year. So… what will happen in 2023?
Global optimism for the New Year falls
While it is true that uncertainty will be part of people’s daily lives in 2023, reality -according to a study- reveals that, despite everything, there is a great atmosphere of trust and hope.
And it is that, with the arrival of a new year, it seems that the energies are restarted; a major reset that somehow works to start from scratch.
Under this context, a recent Ipsos survey reveals that 65 percent of those surveyed say they feel optimistic that 2023 will be better for them than the previous year.
However, despite the fact that it is a high number, we are talking about a decrease of 12 percentage points compared to last year and the lowest score recorded since the platform began conducting the survey.
If we look at what is mentioned in the graph above, Mexico and Brazil are the countries with the highest percentage (of the countries analyzed in the study) of people who feel positive about the new year. Of the 32 countries surveyed, these two rank first, with 85 percent of respondents feeling most optimistic about 2023.
