Counter-Strike: Global Offensive opened its new season under the name of Operation Riptide. If you want to access it, you will have to pay 12.75 euros, but you will take all the new content, improvements and news that the developers have prepared for you. The update incorporates very interesting additions, and it’s the biggest the game has received in a long time. Here we leave you its details.
Operation Riptide arrives with a new short game mode, which will allow us to obtain victory by winning only 9 rounds, instead of the usual 16. On the other hand, the update also adds Private Matchmaking Queues, for those who want to play with their friends without intruders. The new Deathmatch modalities (all against all and team against team), Demolition and Arms Race.
New mission system in Operation Riptide
Another thing that the mission system has been renewed, which will now allow us to have weekly goals to meet. Each mission can be completed in our order of preference, and as part of the reward we will get stars for the Casual, Competitive, Danger Zone and Guardian ranks. In addition, these stars will serve as coins when it comes to unlocking more Operation Riptide content.
New skins, stickers and accessories have been added to the weapons from CS: GO in the latest update. Now we have available the Riot Shield, shield specifically designed for those games that involve hostages. A lot of maps have been added too, like Insertion II, County, Extraction, Ravine and Basalt. In addition, they have been made changes to Dust 2, one of the most iconic maps from the Counter-Strike franchise. A video uploaded to Twitter by the official CS: GO account allows us to see the change within Dust 2, which consists of a wall on the attacker’s side in the middle corridor.
