Since the streaming platform of HBOhas remained open about her ever-hungry for more spin-off series from game of Thrones and a few other of his big projects, but, one exec says ideas for these shows need to be exciting and creative to make it to production and bring franchise projects to fruition, that’s why VP of Original Programming at HBO, kara buckleyspoke at the ATX Television Festival this week on the subject.
You see, the vice president attended a panel called “Futurescape: A Look at What’s Ahead in TV” and listened to how the philosophy of Buckley for the future, to which Warner Bros Discoveryis in a period of transition right now after the merger, but, one thing is clear: the new leadership wants more from the popular franchises and seems singularly focused on cutting budgets where appropriate, however, that cut is not happening. nowhere near game of Thrones…

To which, its execs argue, it all comes down to whether or not the content is compelling, so they can’t just slap the show’s name on something that won’t connect with viewers: “We developed a lot of ideas, we were still developing a lot of ideas, and I think we’re really excited about the one that’s going to air later this summer.”revealed Buckley. “But we don’t feel the need to do another one unless it’s really exciting creatively. That’s my job, at least. And the team I’m on, that’s what we’re told to focus on.” .
So the star of the prequel matt smith talked about how House of the Dragon would be different than what came before in HBO. “I think it’s really different than the original series, to be honest with you,” he said. Smith during a recent interview. “I mean it has to be. The original series was its own thing and it was, it was so brilliant and somehow it left a mark in a way that it would be impossible to repeat. So, I don’t know. I haven’t really seen none, so it’s hard for me. He’s essentially in the same world, he has to take on a slightly different identity. But who knows? I have no idea.”
