The new Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are the latest True Wireless (TWS) headphones from the manufacturer, seeking to compete with Apple’s AirPods Pro and the rest of the increasingly popular wireless audio segment.
The Galaxy Buds Pro are intended to improve on the previous Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, which were liked for their peculiar design, but whose active noise cancellation (ANC) was limited due to the lack of pads that sealed the ear canal.
Now it goes back to the in-ear format with rubber pads, and also includes a double driver (transducer), something unusual in TWS headphones. They are 11 mm, dynamic drivers, for bass and 6.5 mm treble, which should result in a sound of higher quality and precision.
Samsung claims that 99% of external noise is eliminated with the Galaxy Buds Pro, although it does not specify the decibels that its ANC solution cancels, which makes it difficult to compare it with other high-end models such as the Huawei FreeBuds Pro.
The Galaxy Buds Pro offers an ambient mode with four levels, allowing external noise to pass in different degrees, something useful if we must keep attentive to the environment, for example, if we practice running or listen to music in public transport.
If we start talking with the ANC activated, it automatically switches to an ambient mode so that we can hear the answer, as it detects the user’s voice.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro supports Audio 360, a system that emulates the positional sound of a home cinema in the headphones, and that seems oriented mainly to movies and series.
