The awards ceremony
Through these blind tastings, the Great Pisco Bou Legacy 46º won the most important prize of the entire contest, being chosen as Best Spirit of the Competitionand also took home the category of Best Aged Pisco in Chile.
The origin of pisco dates back to colonial times, since there are documents dating back to 1717 of pisco as such. The consensus says that since 1931 the name “Chilean Pisco” has been known and in addition, its place of origin is established in the regions of Atacama and Coquimbo. With 92 years of history of this liquor, our country has positioned itself as a leader in the national and international industry, leaving Chile’s name high.
This liquor has won recognition and awards in various national competitions, to which is added this new participation where the Espaldares del Maipo Vineyard achieved a product that delighted the international jury.
Fernando Antonio Bou Ruiz-Aburto, Founder of the Vineyard talks about the recognition: “Obtaining the best aged pisco in Chile is already a source of pride that I cannot describe, and as a pisco girl, it fills us with happiness, but also, winning the best distillate in the contest is an indescribable emotion. This is clearly the result of great work, sacrifice and effort by an excellent team who give their best every day to create a product that is not equal to any other…
A pure pisco
Pisco is produced without additives or mixtures with other distillates, thanks to this, it presents a unique versatility in its preparations. Going through the most traditional way of consuming it, alone in a short glass with plenty of iceto a series of cocktails such as famous pisco sourending with the way most consumed by Chileans, the pool.
Let’s not forget the pairings with which you can accompany the Gran Pisco Bou Legado 46º. Given its robustness, you can consider pairings that complement and highlight its flavors.
Some suggestions are aged cheeses (Blue or Parmesan), Chocolates with high cocoa content (70% or more), dried fruits such as figs and walnuts and of course, smoked or cured meats, which are excellent to balance the power of the pisco.
