Despite the years that they have been with us stories of Instagram, the platform did not yet offer a way for users to indicate each time we liked something. An alternative, for this, was to use quick reactions, which have the particularity that they are sent as a message to the author of the story, but now that has changed.
Although indicating that a story it amuses us, surprises us, etc. using preconfigured reactions is a very popular way to flirt while keeping a low profile, starting this week an alternative to sending “likes” the old-fashioned way will be reaching all users. That means, without having to invade the other person’s mailbox.

The solution comes in the form of a heart. This new button to send “I like” will coexist with the box to send messages within the stories (where we can still use the aforementioned reactions) but behaves like the likes of Instagram feed posts.
Thus, users will be able to know who has liked their stories by looking at the list of viewers. There the icons of these will be highlighted with a small red heart. The likes They will also be visible in the “Activity” section, along with the rest of the notifications that the account has received.
In the event that we want to undo a “like” given by mistake, we can do so by rewatching the story at any time and simply unchecking the button.
The social network has already started to activate this function in some accounts, who can now “like” all the stories they want. Of course, those who receive them will not be able to see them until the same function is activated for them.
