Once he takes his first steps, give him a toy that he can drag, it will stimulate your baby more.
The process
Babies usually crawl from eight to nine months of age and until they begin to walk. This way they develop their coordination, strengthen their muscles and manage to stand up holding onto some piece of furniture, wall or railing. Then his first steps arrive, at first with insecurity, but little by little with all the necessary confidence.
What should you do
Encourage him and create a safe environment for him to practice these important skills. Verify that every point of support does not represent a danger (secures cabinet and drawer handles, as well as kitchen and bathroom doors; blocks stairs, collects tablecloths and cables, etc.). If your baby is nine to 10 months old, encourage him to stand up on his own with support (it can be one of your hands). Then she places an attractive toy next to her feet so that she wants to sit down to take it. Repeat several times in order to develop your autonomy and strengthen your legs. At 11 months, give him a treadmill or take him for a walk every day, and once he does, give him a drag toy.
The specialist advises
At first, the ambulation will be with the feet widely apart or with one leg slightly out (children use it as a support point to advance with the other), but if you notice that this continues beyond the age of two, it is necessary to consult to the doctor. On the other hand, it is healthy for them to walk barefoot on clean and safe surfaces indoors, however, to go out, the indicated are leather shoes (not patent leather), with a hard and non-slip sole, but flexible in the center, the toe, the heel and the upper. Discard those that have a heel, hard linings or interior seams that can hurt, and verify that between the tip of the big toe and the end of the shoe it is less than 1 cm. Do not put on your baby shoes that another child has worn, as they may have some deformation.
Understand it!
From the crawling stage, the kids assume that everything is within their reach, so protect them from the dangers they may encounter, but don’t be angry if your little one insists on taking you around the world.
