Are you one of those who share your Netflix password with your friends, family or neighbors? So starting in 2023, Netflix will charge you an extra fee for each screen or user account that doesn’t live with you. Netflix decided to take this action to prevent account sharing and as part of its pilot initiative add a house.
This program, which for the moment has only been implemented in Latin American countries such as Peru, Chile and Costa Rica since March 2022, consists of extra charges for additional user subaccounts, that is, the main user is charged for each user with the that you have shared your Netflix account.
At the beginning of 2023, this measure will be extended to other Latin American countries such as El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. The announcement of this new rate is made after it was announced that as of November 1 of this year, Netflix will activate its “Basic Plan with ads” in Mexico.
The biggest difference is that the video quality will be 720/HD with an average of 4-5 minutes of ads per HOUR. In addition, it will not be possible to download the content to have it available without being connected to the Internet, and some series and movie content will not be available due to licensing restrictions.
What does not change to the basic Netflix plan is access to series, movies availability on a variety of TVs and mobile devices, the personalized and clear viewing experience, the possibility of changing plans and cancellation.
