Last week the (false) news began to circulate that Free Fire had reached the Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S consoles, but what actually happened is that someone published a “clone” of Garena’s battle royale as a Microsoft app. Despite bearing the name “Free Fire Garena 2022 Max”, the application is not official and has nothing to do with Garena or Free Fire.
The application in question was developed and published by PedriAppswho has not only published a “clone” of Free Fire in the Xbox store, but many copies of highly popular video games. Among its “developed” apps we can find others such as Fornife, Horror Fear Nights at Fredding, SIFU, Super Mario 3D Infinity World Adventures and Real Drift Assetto Corsa Manager. All of these games use art or fonts from popular video games in hopes of fooling an unsuspecting gamer who is carried away by image and low cost.

Despite being fanmade games, Pedriapps shamelessly uses assets from other companiesas we can see in his “Donkey King Infinity Runner”, which uses an illustration and the Donkey Kong Country logo on its home screen. In the case of “Free Fire Garena 2022 Max”, uses the sources of the official game but it is enough to see the screenshots to know that its gameplay has nothing to do with that of Garena.
One of the strangest applications is that of “Yoshine Fall Guys’n Ultimate Adventures”, a kind of copy of Fall Guys with a bean in Yoshi’s botarga, which tries to recreate a scenario from the Mediatonic game. Let’s remember that Fall Guys delayed its Xbox version until later this year, so this app would seek to take advantage of clueless players that they think they will get something similar.
