August, that month where everything stops and everyone disconnects. In France they have taken it very seriously for what appears to be a decrease of 15.2% in registrations being also one of the worst in 4 years.
And it is that sales in France they have a fairly negative trend marked by three months of decline In which not only does the sales result of the same period of 2020 not improve, the results of the past years are not improved either. This year has started strong but the results are spoiling as we get to the end of the road.
In August, a total of 88,065 units were registered, which added to this year’s accumulated we reached a total of 1,126,543 units. In total, sales so far this year improve 12.8% compared to the same period in 2020. We will continue to report what happens in the coming months.
Do not miss the test of the Tesla Model Y, the Model 3 for those looking for more space and which is already available in Spain.
The ranking of the month of August is marked by a top 10 that hardly shows differences compared to the past months with some things to highlight such as, for example, the first place again for the Dacia Sandero which continues to add sales closely followed by its cousin, the Renault Clio.
And the elephant in the room arrives with the sixth place of the Tesla Model 3 that shines above very popular models like the Renault Captur. With this great result Tesla already sells more cars than Volvo or even DS itself that stays behind at home. A hard knock.
Finally, it is Renault that dominates again in the ranking by brands but still does not cut enough distance with Peugeot that with almost 20,000 units of difference it is still the best-selling brand this year.
