New details about Frey’s companions and their character development both in the real world and in Athia.
A new preview of Fospoken shared with some of the most important media in the world has left new details of the narrative proposal of this isekai-themed game, where the protagonist, Frey Holland, an orphan from New York City, is transported to the magical Athena’s world. As seen in previous previews, she will have the help of a talking bracelet called Cuff that will help her get back home.
According to Game Informerone of the scenes of a Forspoken demonstration that they have been able to see privately, Frey and Cuff argue because the protagonist is more concerned with getting back to her world than helping Athia’s people. Likewise, Cuff seems to know something about frey’s mothereven though she is an orphan. The relationship of these two characters promises to be much more complex than that of simple companions.
Another story scene shown would be a meeting between Frey and Tanta Prav, one of the powerful sorceresses who ruled Athia. Frey comes to her aid to stop the catastrophe that threatens to destroy Athia, but she reminds him of a previous episode with one of her fellow sorceresses and traps the protagonist in a giant sphere of water.
In another article of Game Informer part of Frey’s emotional duality is addressed. He advances that Frey seems to have had problems with the law in New York and he only has the company of his cat Homer. It will be important to her character development as she faces “a gang from Hells Kitchen, the New York legal system, Athia’s council, and evil Tantas, her own self-doubt, strange beasts, and a dragon,” says screenwriter Todd Stashwick. .
Fospoken will finally go on sale next October 11th for PS5 and PC after a long delay that it suffered at the beginning of this month of March.
