Formula E has kicked off a new stage with the official presentation of the new ‘Gen3’ single-seater. Although his debut before the teams, brands and guests took place at the Monaco Yacht Club with a full-size model of the single-seater, in parallel the championship organizer published several digital photos of his new car so that fans could get to know the Single seater from all angles. And the teams and brands present in Formula E have picked up this glove.
Around the same time as the ‘Gen3’ unveiling in Monaco, some of the teams and brands that will compete in the 2022-23 Formula E campaign have released several ‘renders’ of the car in their colours. Envision Racing, Mahindra Racing and Jaguar wanted to show their fans what the ‘Gen3’ will look like in its usual livery.something that Maserati or DS have not done as brands of the Stellantis Group, among other things because Venturi as a partner of Maserati still competes independently, while the divorce of DS and Techeetah seems closer and closer.

Porsche Motorsport has limited itself to publishing a few photos of the presentation of the original ‘Gen3’ with some of the names of their project, but they have preferred not to share any render of the car with the official colors of the Stuttgart brand. An intermediate solution has found Jaguaras the British firm has not shown the new car in the colors of the current ‘Gen2’, but with a ‘camouflage’ livery that highlights the team’s sponsors. And he has also done it with a small video.
Envision Racing green hues, Mahindra red colors and this Jaguar Racing black and white camouflage livery underscore the compact dimensions of the ‘Gen3’ compared to its predecessor. In the end, the new car is almost 20 centimeters shorter, 40 centimeters lower and 10 centimeters narrower. The wheelbase has also been compressed by 13 centimeters. Beyond your measurements, the new ‘Gen3’ is 60 kilos lighter than the ‘Gen2’ and accredits a minimum weight -pilot included- of 840 kilos.
Beyond its weight and dimensions, the ‘Gen3’ has an almost antagonistic silhouette to the ‘Gen2’. As a result of its more compact size, its lines are simpler and cleaner, to the point of resembling to a certain extent a paper airplane. The front spoiler is embedded below the nose and the tongues that shaped the prominent wheel arches, one of the least attractive points of the ‘Gen2’ for fans, have been eliminated. The new single-seater, like its predecessor, does not have a rear wing.
