The iconic Zandvoort Circuit will be the stage where the talented Red Bull drivers, max verstappen and the mexican Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez, they will seek to maintain their supremacy in the year 2023. However, for ‘Checo’, this circuit has been a challenge. The Dutch Grand Prix made its return to the calendar of the Formula 1 in 2021 after more than three decades of absence. Given this context, ‘Checo’ Pérez has had the opportunity to compete in Zandvoort on only two occasions so far. However, his record on this circuit has not been entirely positive, as he has yet to get on the coveted podium.
In his performance last year, starting from the pit lanePérez was able to reach eighth position at the end of the race. In the 2022 edition, starting from fifth place on the grid, the Mexican driver failed to materialize a significant comeback and finished in the same fifth position. Despite his constant effort and determination, the podium at Circuit Zandvoort has eluded ‘Checo’ so far..
On the other hand, his teammate, Max Verstappen, has shown an impressive dominance on this circuit. Verstappen has managed to secure victory in both editions of the Dutch Grand Prix, cementing his position as one of the strongest and most successful drivers on this track. If he achieved victory again this time, Verstappen would equal the record of nine consecutive Formula 1 victories currently held by Sebastian Vettel.
In 2023 “Checo” will seek to overcome previous difficulties and become a stronger contender in search of his first podium on this track. The competition promises to be intense, and the motorsport world will be watching the exploits of the Red Bull drivers in The Netherlands.
