Those of the blue oval brand have followed the same steps as those of the German lightning manufacturer, which has been offering some AGR certified front seats that guarantees a healthier back for many hours behind the wheel. Ford has also used these seats, but with a specific sports configuration that have integrated head restraints.
Ford’s new AGR sports seats
Its development is completely new, with a special padding and a bigger side standbeing configurable in 14 different positions, so the owners of the Puma ST, ST party Y Focus ST they will be able to regulate the adjustments in length and inclination, in addition to lumbar support in four ways. It is not the only novelty, because these seats are upholstered in a more sustainable material with leather look but that, in reality, it is a synthetic material called “Sensico”, a truly vegan material.
The new seats are an option, which will be offered on request in these sports versions and with a specific decoration, sporting two longitudinal stripes in gold on the bench seat and backrest, in addition to the “Ford Performance” logo engraved on the upper part. For now, this is the only combination that the European division of the brand has presented, although other decorations are expected in contrast to the interior and other body colors.
Ford has confirmed its intention to offer AGR certified seats in other more conventional models, a seal that has been achieved with ten prototypes tested in different test scenarios. Robutt has been the true protagonist of these tests, a robot that has sat nothing less than 25,000 times exerting pressure and carrying out different movements, simulating the wear and tear on a seat over a period of ten years.
